Sometimes I feel we as humans, live in an extremely dramatic way. For instance, in the animal kingdom, it is either of the three: Love, Kill or Ignore. But we, overflowing in our tons and millions of emotions continue living as though enacting a Shakespearean play on stage. The play of an extremely long duration. Our entire lifetime!
Hardcore tragedies, romantic, out-of-the-ordinary love stories, bone-chilling thrillers, etc. are bound to grab our attention and eyeballs. People notice what is extraordinary. They notice what is weird. They notice what is NOT normal. For a moderate play? A play without any exciting scenarios or a near-attractive storyline? Well, even in the presence of fine artists and actors, the play is good for nothing. It becomes redundant. It loses its charm, its magic. It loses the very base upon which it holds itself upright.
The audience would not even bother to wait till the end of the act. They waste not a minute on the common man, the common stories, the stories that they see everywhere around anyway. Without even paying for it. They do not consider it important enough to be noticed. But should they even? Is it even worth to sacrifice ourselves to mediocrity? I think not.

I really think that you need to live many more years in order to get a more accurate grasp of the order of things.

“in the animal kingdom, it is either of the three: Love, Kill or Ignore.” – Totally wrong. Dogs, for example, can display frustration, anger, rejection. They can show an innate ability to assess other creatures and decide whether to approach with caution or not.
“But we, overflowing in our tons and millions of emotions” – you are being the drama queen here because we do not have that many different emotions.

Well, even in the presence of fine artists and actors, the play is good for nothing.” – Plays/shows/movies are supposed to entertain, so one with no excitement or interesting story-lines simply reflects so many people’s lives that it is not therefore entertaining.
“Is it even worth to sacrifice ourselves to mediocrity?” – Mediocrity is very subjective so your question can only be “Should I (you) sacrifice myself to mediocrity.”
Suri – I respect the thought that you put into this Post, but you simply cannot make generalized statements on these types of topics as they simply are not true. It shows that you are very young and yet believe that you understand the world.

Speaking of dogs, of course they possess a lot of human qualities as well. But I had intended to mean wild animals. Nevertheless, I get your point. 🙂

Perhaps I could have been a little more diplomatic, but there is nothing wrong with needing to grow up at your age. It is the most natural thing in the world. We live and learn so (hopefully) the longer we live, the more we learn. Celebrate your youth because you will get older soon enough! Keep smiling! 🙂

We as ‘humans’ do not live in a dramatic way.
We as ‘urbane sophisticated society’ live highly dramatically. We covet material possessions , we exhaust our minds but care not to feed it. We exist as a heard that’s moving nowhere and yet be happy knowing how well we fit in.
We as ‘human’ still wake up in the morning to work, to find enough food to fill in the stomach for the day, oblivious to the opulent, we sleep on hard beds wishing that tomorrow be no different, that hopefully we can find enough for the children everyday. We don’t even dream beyond that.
We as ‘fortunate humans’ roam about freely, we read, we make our paths, we care not about the herd, we detest it. We derive excitement from the most petty adventures, we stare at the stars in wonder, we remain blissful knowing that sadness must exist to bring out the true flavour of happiness, we indulge in pleasures. We are happy in some, in one and in none.

Your “we” is a generalization which while no doubt having some basis, cannot be substantiated with any facts. You are making statements about everybody… which you cannot possibly know!
I cannot relate to any of your “We (as humans)…..” statements and would suggest that, if you truly believe what you wrote, then you really need to acquire more worldly experience.
I am going to conclude that you are quite young and, on that basis, applaud you for expressing your young mind… but also be open-minded and you will eventually see a very different world. 🙂

Yes I do need more experience. Yes I am young. But I think you are an archetype of the ‘fortunate beings’ as I have stated.
You love dogs and I assume a lot of your effort is spent on their well being. You took on a different path and you are free in your own terms. You have big dreams and you empathise with animals. I’m sure you deprive happiness even from the little things.
I categorised people as three types:
Those who are self sufficient but bumptious, materialistic, braggart, nescient. Nothing seems to make them happy.
Those who are poor, struggling to get through. Who suffer day and night. Those who don’t even dare to dream to have a better life.
Those who again are self sufficient but seek knowledge, have an open mind and don’t care for possessions and even greet adversities with stoicism.
I believe that everyone falls under these three broadly.
That’s what I think. Please correct me if I’m wrong. And help is always appreciated 🙂

Now you are making much more convincing statements because you are acknowledging differences. Even within your categories however, there are more categories and so trying to divide a population into categories is a very complex task!

You write well, and you obviously feel free to express yourself… which is good. You just need time to understand the implications of life’s imperfections, and then you will see a seemingly infinite number of differences. Have a great day! 🙂
